Before you go
Put your thumb on the left of the screen and push toward where you want to go. The kart steers there by itself.
Put your thumb on the left and slide left or right, like a steering wheel.
Tilt your phone like a wheel. “⟲ center” resets the middle.

GAS on the right to go, BRAKE to slow down. Lift off before corners: engine braking already slows you.

All 4 wheels past the inside kerb = corner cut (lap deleted, +2 s in a race). Hitting an opponent with your nose = front fairing pushed in, +5 s. Big hit = kart wrecked, back on track 2 s later.
Driving assist is on: the kart brakes by itself if you come in too fast and holds the line when you're not steering. You can turn it off in Options ⚙.

The assist brakes cautiously: it makes the game easy but caps your lap time (≈ silver medal). For gold, turn it off. Assisted laps are flagged ASSIST on the leaderboard.
